We would like to remind the authors of manuscripts submitted for publication, especially in the "JMP Clinical Round" section, that it is mandatory to:
- make sure that it will not be possible to identify the subject/patient described by clinical/instrumental data; this applies not only to data reproduced from charts, but also to photographs of reports and/or clinical-therapeutic actions;
- give authorization for publication, indicating specifically the source, in case the author submits a clinical case (even if anonymous), specifically described as deriving from the hospital he/she works for.

ILLUSTRATIONS
Illustrations (TIFF, JPG, EPS, Microsoft PowerPoint or other digital formats) included in the manuscript should meet publication-quality standards.
Photographs with a maximum size of 22x28 cm are accepted, but they will be reduced in size. When submitting color photographs (such as those sent for the "Images in Medicine" section), we recommend sending the original material by mail. Attach a label to the back of the illustration stating, in clear print, the first author's last-name, the figure number, and an arrow pointing at the figure top.
If requested at the time of submission, original illustrations will be returned to the authors.
All figures must be accompanied by an explanatory legend, which also contains the explanation of abbreviations in use. Figure legends must be gathered on a separate sheet.

Example (as it will appear in the final publication):

Figure 2. Bar graphs show diastolic diameter, compliance index, and isobaric compliance index of 10 control subjects (C), 9 hypertensive subjects (H), and 9 patients with mild congestive heart failure (CHF). Data are mean±SEM of baseline (open bars [left open bars in C subjects]), observational period of 4 or 8 weeks in C subjects (right open bars), 4 to 12 weeks of benazepril treatment in H subjects (hatched bars), 4 weeks of benazepril treatment in CHF patients (hatched bars), and 8 weeks of benazepril treatment in CHF patients (shaded bars) *p<.05

TABLES
Each table must be typed on a separate sheet, double-spaced, and with a heading and an explanatory caption above the table columns as well as a table legend.

REFERENCES
Number the references consecutively in the text as bracketed Arabic numbers. The list of references must be placed at the end of the text, on a separate sheet, numbered according to the order they are quoted in the text.
Indicate last-name and initials of all authors, followed by the title of the article, and the title of the journal (italics), abbreviated according to the International Serial Data System-list of serial title word abbreviations (1985). Indicate also year of publication, volume number, and first and last page numbers.
Example: Manco JC, Gallo L, Doday RAM, Fernandez RG, Armorine DS. Degeneration of the cardiac nerves in Chagas's disease, Circulation 1969; 40:879-885
In case of book chapters, cite editor(s), title of the book, publisher, place of publication, year and inclusive page numbers. Example: Lesh MD, Kalman JM, Olgin JE. An electrophysiologic approach to catheter ablation of atrial flutter and tachycardia: from mechanism to practice. In: Singer I, Ed., Interventional electrophysiology, Williams & Wilkins, Baltimore, 1997: 347-382
Personal communications, manuscripts in preparation, submitted or in press, or other non-published data should not be cited in the reference list. They can be enclosed within brackets in the text, or as a footnote where explanation is longer than ten words. In order to maintain a uniform style in the Journal, the Editorial Office can implement stylistic changes to accepted manuscripts when necessary.

PEER REVIEW
The Editor will forward the decision on manuscript acceptance to the corresponding author, according to the reviewers' evaluation. If changes are requested before publication, they will be indicated to the corresponding author together with instructions and suggestions on how to revise the manuscript.

INFORMATIVE NOTES

It is the author's task to indicate in detail the source of the scientific material, including tables, illustrations and any further information; the Editors will be entitled to delete from the article any item whose source is not adequately documented.
